Welcome
EMERGENCY NUMBERS
Emergency phone numbers are vitally important to the school!
If you work, do not have a phone, or plan to be out of town, please leave several phone numbers where we may reach a local friend or relative whom we may contact should your student become ill or injured. Please update these emergency contact numbers frequently.
WE MUST BE ABLE TO REACH YOU!

Health Screenings: State statutes require school nurses to do health screenings on all 7th grade students, new to the District and those with no screening data within the last 3-4 years (due to COVID, etc). The screening includes height, weight, hearing, vision, blood pressure, pulse, and dental. This will typically be done privately in the nurse's office, students are fully clothed, without other students observing. You will be notified ONLY if something abnormal requires a provider referral.
Thank you for letting us keep your Students/s safe and healthy!

MEDICATIONS
As school nurses, we understand that it may be necessary for your student to take medication during the school day.
ALL MEDICATIONS ARE TO BE LEFT AT THE NURSE’S OFFICE!
Prescription medications must be authorized by a physician or health care provider. Medications must be in appropriately labeled prescription bottles; accompanied by the appropriate Mat-Su School District Medication Authorization Form indicating the reason for the medication and the time it is to be given. Ask your pharmacist to give you a labeled bottle for school and another one for home. All medications must be delivered to the school by the parent/guardian or his/her adult representative. We ask for your co-operation as we are primarily concerned with your student’s safety.
The only OTC medications we school nurses are authorized to give your student with your signed permission on the health registration form are: Acetaminophen (Tylenol), Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), Tums, Benadryl, Lactaid and cough drops.
